This line of stores featuring Ripleys Believe It or Not is across Alamo Plaza from the Alamo. The west wall of the Alamo was just a little further west than the storefronts.
Sometimes Texas thinks it is still an independent republic. The building is just north of the Alamo. The tower is approximately the NW corner of the mission yard wall.
The Defenders
“The Alamo Regiment,” the 141st Infantry since WWI, carries the Lineage and Honors the defenders of the Alamo and has served in many places since then. The Bricks around the monument have the names of those who died in action.
